About RFFP

Richard’s Famous Food Podcast is the most-bonkers food show in the history of eating…

a mix of journalism, absurdity & sonic delight brought to you by James Beard Award-nominated food writer, filmmaker, and audio impresario Richard Parks III.

It’s more like Pee-wee’s Playhouse than The Splendid Table.

Check out this recent review in Vulture, which calls us “A stream of consciousness that explodes with clouds of color and aural wit… with sticky aural cues that buy real estate in the back of your brain,” or this feature in The Sydney Morning Herald, which calls us “the podcast podcasters listen to,” or this feature in Podchaser, which calls us “one of the most boundary pushing technical achievements of narrative podcasting in years.”

Each episode proceeds with a single theme or story and takes the listener on a berserk aural journey. It’s grounded in journalism & real information, but it’s totally unlike any show you’ve heard. It’s densely packed with hilarious sound design, original music, surreality, jokes, characters, twists on cliche, and goofiness . . . it’s “quasi-journalistic,” “aurally adventuresome,” and 10,000% itself.

It’s a cartoon, but you listen to it. And you learn from it.

For lack of a better term, we call it “gastro-comedy.”

ANYWAYS!

RFFP was named one of The Best Podcasts of 2020 by Spotify and also IndieWire, one of The Best Podcasts of 2019 (So Far) by Vulture (honorable mention) and one of the “hidden gems” of 2019 by CBC.
